Akademias offers the diploma program Project Management Leader. This course is a collaborative effort involving numerous domestic and international experts and companies that aim to enhance project management within the public sector, the Icelandic business community, and the third sector.
The Project Management Leader course focuses on building knowledge, skills, and competencies to lead projects within organizations and institutions by utilizing project management methodologies and software solutions like Asana and ClickUp. Special emphasis is placed on enabling students to manage both simple and more complex projects.
The program's instructors include approximately 10 experts specializing in project management across large and small-scale projects. Each module is led by 2-3 instructors sharing their own experiences and real-life case studies. The course supervisor is Eyþór Ívar Jónsson, who has managed numerous innovation projects and conferences at Akademias. Eyþór also chairs the European Academy of Management conference, serves as the President of Akademias, and organizes the Akademias miniMBA and Leadership programs.
The course methodology combines short group projects, lectures, and expert discussions. Emphasis is placed on communication skills, problem-solving, opportunity analysis, critical and creative thinking.
Included in the course is access to the online program Project Sprint.
